Gouache painting workshop with artist Marco Scorti
28 & 29 June 2025 · Museo Hermann Hesse Montagnola
Saturday: 10.00 – 12.30 / 13.30 – 16.30
Sunday: 9.00 – 12.00 / 13.30 – 16.30
This gouache painting workshop, led by Ticino artist Marco Scorti, explores the theme of the garden as an artificial construct, inviting participants to reflect on human intervention in the landscape and the transformations it brings to the land. The gouache technique, known for its opacity and vibrant colors, will serve as a medium for investigating this compelling dialogue between the artificial and the natural.
The workshop unfolds in two phases. In the first phase, participants will embark on the evocative walk In the Footsteps of Hermann Hesse on the Golden Hill, where they will create gouache sketches and capture visual impressions through photography and life drawing. In the second phase, they will move to the atelier for a dedicated painting session, transforming their sketches, photographs, and observations into a personal artwork on canvas.
This immersive weekend of creativity offers a unique opportunity to connect with the surrounding nature, explore its essence, and translate reflections into personal artistic expression. It promises to be a deeply inspiring experience for those seeking to strengthen the bond between creativity, landscape, and identity.
The course deals with technical language and therefore is intended for people with basic knowledge in drawing, or for drawing students of at least 13 years of age.
