BIO
Chiara Mezzalama was born in Rome on September 28, 1972. She lives between Rome and Paris and has two children. A writer, translator and psychotherapist, she published her first novel Avrò Cura di Te with E/O Publishing in 2009. She wrote a diary about the terrorist attacks in Paris Voglio essere Charlie: diario minimo di una scrittrice italiana a Parigi. This book was also translated into French and Persian and was censored in Iran. The novel inspired a children's book version, Le jardin du dedans-dehors, an illustrated volume that won numerous awards and was translated into several languages. Dopo la pioggia is her third novel, published by E/O in 2021 and winner of the Premio Strega 2021. Mezzalama teaches literature at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris and works for Leggendaria magazine and other magazines. She is a member of the Piccoli Maestri association.
