Viviana Bertazzi graduated in 2019 from the University of Turin in German Literature with a thesis on Hermann Hesse, examining his Eastern thought in his works. During the preparation of her work she consulted the Hermann Hesse Foundation’s archives, giving her the opportunity to learn about the location where the writer lived. She presents an insight into this topic from the perspective of a modern young Italian woman.
